Power Electronics & Power Engineering are disciplines with large growth potential!

GIVE YOUR STUDENTS A GREAT FOUNDATION IN POWER ENGINEERING
WHILE THEY ARE IN HIGH SCHOOL with UNITRAIN & LABSOFT

The need for a new approach
It is clear we are in a time of great innovation and change. The threat of global warming and the need to create better, more efficient, products for human use are driving this change. The development of alternative energy generation, SMARTGrid upgrades, and the innovations in Hybrid & Electric Vehicles are just a few examples from a large field of new innovations in power electronics. Give your students a “head-start” within their high school program!!!

Are we producing enough students for important technical disciplines?
In the past, a typical High School program in science or technology might have introduced students to electric motors, forms of alternative energy generation, and other foundational topics. This leaves a gap as students transition to a technical or engineering programs at the post-secondary level. The pace and scale of content learning necessary within technical and engineering subjects at post-secondary levels is one reason that student success rates are not increasing. Students must receive a broader introduction at lower grade levels so that that they are prepared.

UniTrain & LabSoft offer a great solution!
High-level theory, complex mathematics, lack of good teaching content, and cost for equipment are just some of the reasons that technical and engineering topics are, generally, ignored at high school level. Our UniTrain hardware and LabSoft learning environment offer an ideal solution to encourage greater participation.

The goal is to give students an introduction to advanced technical & engineering topics, within a context they understand, all done safely. Our UniTrain hardware is the perfect, and safe, way to introduce students to various electric motor configurations, transformers, three-phase systems, power converter circuits, active power, power grids/grid models, power generation and much more. Our LabSoft learning environment has all electronics instrumentation (no need for separate multimeters, power suppliers, function generators, oscilloscopes, etc…). Additionally, all courses come with learning content that includes topic background & theory, lab activities, assessment, & teacher monitoring resources.
