What is S.T.E.M.?
STEM is about the integration of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics within education to better understand and to gain greater insight into the important concepts and principles of each individual discipline.
Why teach using STEM?
- The STEM disciplines are considered part of the core underpinning of an advanced society;
- We can observe intuitively that these disciplines are related;
- Each STEM subject is not considered whole without the others.
- Even though we strive for the theoretical, the abstract, the ideal we know that greater insight is achieved within context that may not be achieved by each discipline alone;
- STEM is not about artificial silos;
